DIY Face Scrub for Acne-Prone, Oily Skin

Easy to make, affordable and supereffective this DIY face scrub is suitable for all skin types, though it works particularly well on acne-prone, oily skin. With just 6 ingredients, most of which you likely already have in your pantry, this exfoliating face scrub is a keeper!

  • In a food processor, combine oatmeal, clay and baking soda. Pulse until finely ground.
  • Add jojoba oil, rose hip oil and lavender oil. Pulse again until mixed through.
  • Transfer scrub to a clean glass jar.
  • To use: take a teaspoon and apply to damp face in gentle, circular motions. Rinse and/or use a soft washcloth to wipe off any excess.
  • Moisturize as needed.



The scrub should keep for up to a month in a sealed glass jar. You can use two to three times per week, depending on skin type and needs.
