It’s a weird world we live in–while we’re so lucky to have technology and tools available to support our health, we also live in a time where we’re exposed to the most toxic environments with more conflicting, confusing information than ever.
How do we find balance in the noise and use technology to advance our health, wellness and longevity?
In this roundup, we’ve gathered our favorite women’s health tracking tools, from at-home testing kits to fertility apps to fitness trackers. If you’re into smart technology, love being proactive when it comes to your health, and get joy from seeing tangible data and results – this post is for you!
Women’s Health Tracking: Everlywell Testing Kits
What is it? EverlyWell is a revolutionary company providing reliable at-home health test kits for anyone to take in the comfort and convenience of their own home. They work with the same labs doctors’ offices use and offer lifestyle guidance based on your health results. They have a huge range of tests, from Thyroid Health, Food Sensitivity, Metabolism, Vitamin D & Inflammation, Sleep & Stress, Sexual Health and more.
I recently took the Women’s Health and Fertility Test which measures 11 hormones that impact your menstruation, fertility, thyroid and weight:
- LH (Luteinizing Hormone)
- FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone)
- Cortisol at four times throughout the day
- TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone)
- Free T3
- Free T4
- TPO (Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies)
If you’re thinking about starting a family, have had changes in your menstrual cycle or have irregular periods, or experience symptoms like fatigue, hot flashes, migraines, bloating, hair growth or loss, testing your hormones is a critical step in understanding how to support both your reproductive and general health.
As someone with PCOS and hypothyroidism, keeping my hormones balanced is extremely important to me. And while symptoms can be helpful, having tangible lab results is really the only way to know with 100% certainty what your hormones are doing and then how to best treat them with food, supplements and lifestyle changes.
Why I love EverlyWell: While typically you need to go into a doctor’s office for these types of tests, EverlyWell tests are taken right in the comfort and convenience of your own home. The instructions are simple, the blood test is a nearly pain-free prick of the finger (the saliva test just involves spitting into a test tube), and the results arrive in your inbox quickly in an easy to understand format, making treatment easier!
Even better: you can test your hormones throughout the day AND at different points throughout your cycle, rather than just getting one teeny snapshot of what your hormones were doing at that exact moment in time. Since our hormones fluctuate all the time, this is really valuable to get a clear picture of what’s really going on.

Cost: $399 for the Women’s Health and Fertility Test (they’re usually HSA/FSA covered.). You can check out all of their at-home health test kits here!
Women’s Health Tracking: Daysy Personal Fertility Calculator
What is it? Daysy is natural and hormone-free birth control fertility tracker, using the fertility awareness method (FAM) by learning and tracking your menstrual cycle. Their latest clinical trial proves Daysy to be 99.4% accurate for distinguishing fertile days from non-fertile days, which means you can plan or prevent pregnancy as you choose.
So how does it work? Every morning, take your basal body temperature under your tongue with the Daysy device before you get out of bed. Daysy automatically sends that data to your phone where you can analyze the data.
Confirm menstruation on the days you have it and then, Daysy calculates your fertility status for the next 24 hours. It’s that easy!
Why I love Daysy: Unlike most birth control methods, Daysy is all natural, side-effect-free option and there’s no confusing charting necessary that inevitably leads to human error. The 99.4% accuracy rate is one of the most reliable birth control methods you can use!
It’s also incredibly helpful if you’re trying to get pregnant, since Daysy predicts your most fertile days (i.e. when you’re ovulating) so you know when the best time to try and conceive is. Score (pun intended!) 😉
Women’s Health Tracking: Glow Apps
What is it? Glow is a free app that tracks your ovulation and fertility (and now, men’s fertility too!). There’s a daily health log where you enter your personalized info, like weight, age, previous periods, body temperature, sexual activity and symptoms (from acne to bloating) which then gets translated into personalized health insights and predictions. Glow is also a wider network of clinics offering fertility programs and treatments around the country.
There’s also an Eve by Glow app for detailed period tracking and sex ed, Glow Nurture app to support you in having a healthy pregnancy, and Glow Baby app to track your baby’s first year and celebrate milestones.
Why I love Glow: Over the years of trying to balance my hormones and regulate my cycles, I have tried out dozens of period tracking apps. Glow is by far the best–it’s super easy to use, the tracking data is always spot on (after you’ve used it for at least 3 months so it can learn your cycles), the advice is the most helpful and it just takes the guesswork out of everything. Other apps overcomplicate things or the reverse: they don’t gather enough data to really be able to predict with real accuracy.
Cost: Free! Download the app here.
Women’s Health Tracking: Clearblue Ovulation Sticks
What is it? The Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test identifies your fertile window through a urine sample. It’s the only ovulation test that detects the rise in two fertility hormones before ovulation–estrogen and luteinizing hormone (LH)–with easy to understand digital smiley face results on the reader.
With this information, you can try to conceive on your 4 most fertile days to maximize your chances of getting pregnant, naturally! Or on the flipside, you can avoid having sex during those days if you’re not trying to get pregnant.
Why I love Clearblue: It’s an affordable and easy option to track your fertile windows – no tracking, no temperature readings, no apps – just a quick pee test and you’re on your way, which is really the only way to be 100% sure you’re ovulating or not. It’s basically an at-home hormone test and Clearblue is the easiest one I’ve found to understand.
Though I wasn’t trying to get pregnant, I used Clearblue’s ovulation sticks when I was struggling with irregular periods. Since a healthy cycle involves ovulation each month, it was important for me to see whether or not I was ovulating and what was happening with my cycles. Without that knowledge I never would’ve been able to regulate my periods, which now come every 32 days like clockwork.
Cost: Starts around $30+, depending on number of tests you order. Check it out on Amazon here.
Women’s Health Tracking: Fitbit Fitness Tracker
What is it? The Fitbit is a physical activity tracker wristband that wirelessly syncs to your body and movements, tracking data like sleep, activity, heart rate and steps. You can also manually input exercise, food, weight and more into their app.
Set goals, like how many steps you want to take per day, and join the community support system where you can connect with your friends and family for encouragement and group challenges.
If you thrive on data and enjoy being held accountable, the Fitbit will really help you in meeting your goals.
Why I love it: Designed to help you become more active, eat a more well-rounded diet, sleep better and turn you into a healthier human being one step at a time, I love using the Fitbit to balance my hormones as each of these factors are incredibly influential on our hormones.
It may not seem like such a direct correlation, like tracking your period, but rest assured knowing what’s happening with your body and sleep, getting plenty of exercise and movement and eating healthy are critical for hormone balance!
I love being able to track my sleep, specifically–and the app provides TONS of helpful data like how long you spent in REM sleep vs. light sleep, how long you actually slept and the quality of your sleep.
Cost: From $59.95 to $329.95 depending on the model (I have the gorgeous Fitbit Alta HR in Black and Rose Gold, available on Amazon) or direct through their website here.
Women’s Health Tracking: Motiv Ring Fitness Tracker
What is it? Motiv is a subtle and waterproof ring that tracks your activity, sleep and heart rate. It’s one of the smallest fitness trackers available! They actually mail you a sizing kit before you get your ring to ensure it’s the perfect fit.
What makes it different from the Fitbit? It’s ultralight and worn on your finger, versus on your wrist, which some people prefer both for comfort and a sleeker, more blended look.
Why I love Motiv: While the Fitbit has come A LONG way in style and design, it’s nice to be able to wear something a bit more subtle, especially for nicer occasions. Another plus: it’s waterproof, so you can shower with it on!
While the user interface on the app isn’t as detailed and helpful as Fitbit’s, I do like that Motiv is simple and straightforward and focuses on the most important data.
