Whenever I meet healthy, beautiful, successful women, I’m always dying to know what it’s like to walk in their shoes. What do they eat? What products do they use? What’s their routine? I’m obsessed with other peoples’ stories and love sharing uplifting women with y’all!
Today we’re chatting with Sophie Jaffe, a certified raw food chef and yoga teacher, and founder of Philosophie Superfoods, a California-based company improving customer’s health one superfood at a time.
GETTING TO KNOW SOPHIE JAFFE
I first e-met Sophie when I discovered her incredible Instagram account. I connected so much with her mission of nourishing your body with food and yoga, and was so inspired by her happy, glowing life (and absolutely adorable two little boys…is there anything cuter than little kids doing yoga?!). Sophie truly radiates positivity, health and kindness…and she’s freakin’ beautiful, right? I couldn’t get enough of following Sophie’s uplifting stories.
And then, just like these things tend to go, Sophie started popping up everywhere in my life.
First, it was that nearly everyone else I followed on the Gram was posting about her company’s amazing products–Philosophie makes plant-based superfood protein powders, coconut butters and honeys making it easier and more delicious to attain optimal health and radiant wellness. Each product comes in three flavors: detoxifying Green Dream, beautifying Berry Bliss, and energizing Cacao Magic.
I thought how brilliant this was–instead of buying a dozen different products, you can just buy one blend from Sophie and get all of that incredible nutrition packed into one product. Score! Oh and did I mention that the likes of George Clooney use Philosophie’s superfoods. I’ll have what he’s having!
Then, my very own doctor had Sophie on her podcast. At that point, I knew the universe was sending me a sign–I had to get Sophie in this series.

So let’s get into it; let’s take a peek at what it’s like to spend a day walking in Sophie Jaffe’s shoes.
WHAT ARE THE FIRST 30 MINUTES OF YOUR DAY LIKE?
I love my sacred morning quite time before the kiddos are up. The first 30 minutes is when I try to get my meditation on to start my day off on the right foot. I try to find some beautiful morning light and get some stretching done as well.

WHAT’S YOUR TYPICAL BREAKFAST?
Smoothies tend to be my go to breakfast. I pack in a ton of nourishing ingredients to fill me up throughout the morning! Here is my favorite recipe.
ARE YOU A TEA OR COFFEE DRINKER?
WHAT’S YOUR EXERCISE ROUTINE?
It really depends on the season. During the warmer months, I love outdoor workouts where I can enjoy the beauty of nature while getting a good sweat. A sandy beach yoga practice or a long hike in the mountains near my home is ideal when the sun is shining, but on cold and dreary winter days I like to take my workouts inside with some solid sessions in the gym.
TIME TO GET READY! WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO BEAUTY AND SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
I am also so obsessed with Chrysalis Water. This is my all-time favorite all-purpose everything. Chrysalis water is an air freshener, energy reset, and natural face and body toner. It’s essential first aid for skin, space, linens, and more. A sublime and powerful healing mist, C-Water is strong enough to destroy any odor and transform any room, while gentle and nourishing enough to soothe irritated skin and moisturize frizzy hair, set make-up or freshen it.
Lastly, considering how insanely packed my schedule always is, I treasure Coco Kind All-Purpose Salve. Coconut oil is pretty much the elixir of life. I love the convenience of this container, so I can carry the goodness of coconut oil right in my purse without making a mess! I put it on dry skin, chapped lips, inflamed pimples….and the list goes on!
I’m often asked what my face routine is and why I have such clear, glowy skin. My response is always the same: I keep my routine simple, but the MOST important part isn’t actually about what I’m putting on my face, but rather making sure that I’m getting vital nutrients into my body so that I glow from the inside OUT. Lately I use Smarty Pants (tastes like a treat!) for an awesome Womens Multi Vitamin and also Garden of Life for Probiotics. Gut Health is so key! However, I try to get all of my Nutrients from superfoods and whole foods.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ON-THE-GO SNACKS?
WHAT’S A TYPICAL LUNCH LIKE FOR YOU?
Lunch time is different every day depending on what I have going on. Of course cooking at home is so important to me, but I don’t always have the luxury of doing so. Huge salads the size of my head, tons of fresh greens, sprouted things like nuts and seeds.
I like to really fill up for lunch with tons of nutrients so I can power through the afternoon. If I am getting something on the go, I love Fala Bar in LA for their yummy Veggie Burgers and delicious salads, and I live for those Sweet Potato fries!
WHEN YOU’RE GROCERY SHOPPING, WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU AVOID ON THE LABEL?
Milk & Eggs is my secret weapon! It is so challenging, as many of you mama’s know, to grocery shop with two kids. I order online from Milk & Eggs and our goodies are delivered right away, as fresh as can be!
When I do have to run to the grocery store, I really pay attention to labels and ingredients and what exactly I am feeding myself and my family. My kids are even so aware of what they are putting into their body, which makes my heart soar! I limit Gluten and Dairy, but if it is really high quality, I will occasionally indulge. I try to focus on eating real food and wide variety of it.

WHAT’S IN YOUR PANTRY?
At home in our pantry, we have tons of beans, Simple Mills Almond Flour crackers (kiddies go nuts for those dipped in Hope Hummus), Purely Elizabeth Granola, Elemental Superfood Crumble, Trader Joe’s brown rice pasta, Mary’s Gone Crackers, Mamas Organic Cereal, Gluten free rolled Oats for oatmeal and Navitas Naturals for Superfood toppings (Hemp+Chia).
REALTED: HOW TO STOCK A HEALTHY PANTRY
DINNER TIME! IF YOU’RE EATING OUT, WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR ON MENUS TO STAY HEALTHY?
I think its so important to have my family home for dinner so we can enjoy the meal together! We tend do grilled salmon, or some tasty fresh fish, veggie burgers, lots of greens and roasted veggies, like sweet potato. I also throw on roasted chickpeas for added crunchy amazingness. We also do lentils, bell peppers, asparagus, cauliflower, and carrots.

BED TIME! WHAT’S YOUR NIGHTLY ROUTINE?
When I am winding down in the evenings, taking a bath is such a treat! Chrysalis Detox Soak is my faveto throw in.
I make sure to put my phone on airplane mode 1 hour before bed too to relax my mind and enjoy my hubby. I hope to be in bed around 10:30 to get a full nights sleep.
My guilty pleasure would have to be a good binge on the Bachelor and treating myself to a glass of wine!
FAVORITE HEALTHY INDULGENCE?
Since I have a major chocolate sweet tooth, my healthy indulgence is for sure Pressed Juice’s Freeze, so yum! It’s made from nuts and juices from fruits/veggies, as well as coconuts. Freeze is vegan, gluten and dairy-free too!
FAVORITE PRODUCT THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO TRY?
My superfood of choice is the Cacao Magic Coconut Butter. If I am not eating it by the spoonful, I spread it on toasts, waffles, pancakes, in smoothies or on oatmeal.
